Advice Needed

Ok ladies, I'm in the need for some advice....

My tanning package at the salon ran out a week ago, and I'm already starting to feel a little like this:

But I'm completely terrified of the C word
(c.a.n.c.e.r)

So I've decided to turn over a new leaf and quit the bed tanning!

I'd like to explore my other options.

A. Invest in some in home self tanner (freaks me out a bit)

OR

B. Go to the salon and step into one of those spray tanning machines (ms. salon lady set it at a shade too dark the ONE time I tried it. It just so happened to be right before *aka the day before* I left on spring break. D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. I was the only person on the beach wearing a turtleneck...ha. Not quite but I should have been =) Needless to say I haven't revisited the machine spray since).

and lastly

C. Keep my fingers crossed I don't end up looking like this:

Lotion Tan?
Spray Tan?
Salon Spray Tan?

Any advice/tips from my fellow tanners out there for getting the most natural and streak free results? Or any mishaps you learned from...

Slap-Chopped!!

Vince Shlomi(44), better known as the pitch man for a super this absorbent towel and this food chopper was arrested at a hotel in Miami for a violent altercation with a prostitute(26).

According police reports(you can view them here), Shlomi told police he met Harris at a Miami Beach nightclub and took her to his $750-a-night room. Shlomi then paid Harris about $1,000 and when he kissed her, she "bit his tongue and would not let go." Shlomi then punched her several times until she released his tongue.

The affidavit says a bleeding Shlomi ran to the hotel lobby, where security summoned police.

Both were slap-chopped with the silver bracelets for felony aggravated battery.

All I can say is sham-Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww!

In case you wondered....

this is what I will be doing in thirty minutes....

Don't knock it til you try it haha.....such a good workout! Did circuits on the machines this morning, now back to the gym for part dos! A little pound melting before I become brave enough to bust out the bikini from the top drawer.

Thirsty Thursday!

A short and simple list of liquid indulgences....now, only if the weather would warm up already. I'm sooo sick of wearing this coat.

The Frozen Margarita

2 (6 ounce) cans frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1 1/2 cups tequila
1/2 cup Triple Sec
2 tablespoons sifted confectioners' sugar
Ice cubes
Lime wedges
Coarse salt
Lime wedges, for garnish

Directions:

Combine half of each of the first 4 ingredients in container of an electric blender. Process 30 seconds. Gradually add enough ice cubes to bring mixture to 3 1/2 cup level; blend until smooth. If you want to freeze for later use, pour mixture into a large freezer container. Repeat procedure with remaining half of ingredients. Cover tightly and freeze up to 1 month.

To serve, If frozen, thaw 20 minutes or until mixture becomes slushy. Rub rims of cocktail glasses with lime wedge. Place salt in saucer; spin rim of each glass in salt. Pour beverage into prepared glasses. Garnish, if desired. Serve immediately. Yields about 7 cups.

* freeze them in a popsicle tray for an equally awesome treat~!

Strawberry Julius

1 cup strawberries, sliced ( fresh is best )
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
2/3 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Slice up fresh strawberries until you have enough to fill a one cup measure. Add to a blender or food processor, or if you only have a stick mixer, just put it in a large pyrex jug. Add rest of ingredients. Blend until smooth. You may want to try this a little bit cooler for summer days, omit the water and add a few ice cubes. Also it does tend to separate if you leave it sitting around for a minute, Don't let this put you off, just stir it up a bit, it tastes the same, just tends to be more frothy at the top then.

Mocha Frappe

1 cup strong brewed coffee
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon 2% reduced-fat milk
1 1/4 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
3 tablespoons fat-free frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 teaspoon chocolate shavings

Directions:

Stir together coffee, sugar, and 1 tablespoon milk in a small glass measuring cup. Pour into ice cube trays, and freeze at least 2 hours or until firm.

Process coffee ice cubes, 1 1/4 cups milk, and chocolate syrup in a blender until smooth. Dollop evenly with whipped topping, and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Serve immediately.
